Date submitted : Wednesday 8th Feb 2006 By : Glen When visited Selhurst Park : ?Dec 05 Event : versus Wolverhampton Comments : Comments : Went to my first english football game at Selhurst Park with a friend (with a disablity) and his carer and had a great experience. My friend was treated with great respect and being wheelchair bound I noticed that just about every person in and around the ground gave us ample space and room to move on match day. Heaps of room given to those with disabilities who aren't so able to get a numbered seat, anyway where I was sitting with the wheelies and their family/friends I thought we had the best seat in house. I also work as a disability support worker back in Australia and I was impressed with the commitment Selhurst Park and it's patrons provide to the disadvantaged, as some stadiums that I've been to don't offer the same level of hospitality. Well done Palace.
Date submitted : Saturday 29th Oct 2005 By : Kevin When visited Selhurst Park : every game Event : every game Comments : my parents are badge holders and i totally understand what they go through, the actual deal they purchased is fabulous...and palace dont charge too much at all...but as you rightly state, parking is a huge problem, they have to get to the stadium hours before hand...park miles away and after the match have to work their way through the crowds...with my dad, who has angina, pushin the wheelchair....its not good enough.

Date submitted : Sunday 21st Mar 2004 By : Richard Matthews When visited Selhurst Park : 20 March 2004 Event : Norwich Comments : Parking atrocious. There doesn't appear to be the slightest provision for disabled, no matter what severity.
We were lucky to find a disabled bay on a nearby street, otherwise, you need to be at Selhurst Park about 2 hours before kick-off.
The area around the ground is congested with fans that, often, need shouting at (twice) to make room for you to pass. If you are in a self-propelled chair, you will definitely need a willing had to push you up the hill!
Stewards outside the ground seemed helpful, and there the experience ended! A woman steward (who, it should be said, possessed sufficient girth to do so) obstructed access to the ramp to tick one's name off a sheet. Slight incline into the stand, and...
Not a steward in sight to do anything to discourage the thousands of people in front of the disabled area from standing throughout the game, thereby rendering one's view to that of other people's buttocks for 90 minutes.
Unless your club visits Selhurst Park with a small following of fellow supporters who migh JUST give a jot for your plight, then, FORGET IT!
Palace, the stand may be old, but you can still consider yourself at the bottom of the pile in my book! In fact, I wish I could have my money back!
