Facilities good for ambulant disabled, though I didn't know about ground level access gate and found the steps to pitchside seat rather steep and daunting, will know better next visit. All in all a very pleasant ground to visit, easy car parking opposite ground, free to Blue badge holders, dedicated toilets and catering at ground level, adding up to an enjoyable day out, thanks Preston. Date submitted : Sunday 23rd Nov 2003 By : Richard Matthews When visited Deepdale : 22 November 2003 Event : Norwich City Comments : I was extremely fortunate in getting a parking space in the car park near the away end. Home fans that I met outside were friendly and chatty.
The stewards with responsibility for the disabled were helpful and friendly, as were the police.
Other views about some ground stewards are not as favourable. The person responsible for making others keep to their seats just sat and ignored the fact that able-bodied fans were obstructing our pitch-side view.
The toilet at the away end is primitive, in the extreme. And, when I visited, in an extremely dirty condition. (One of our female group was disgusted with the fact that the seat was absolutely filthy!)
Apart from that, a great stadium that is nearing the completion of an obvious modernisation.
Refreshment facilities (if they exist) are not accessible to wheelchairs or those with more severe walking difficulties. Programme sellers, though, did walk about with their wares. (Could have done with a hot-soup vendor on that day!)
